Erik Hanberg

It is always very inspiring to listen to people that have lived and be part of how the internet grew to be the indispensable tool that is today.
Mr. Hanberg show us how important it is to keep updated of what is going on in the industry when you have a business. In order for a business to survive the changes in the economy and demand it requires leaders that are capable to grow and modify what is require by the market when it is required.
It was very interesting to talk and listen to someone as multifaceted as Mr. Hanberg is. He has such a great experience in a variety of industries, which I personally find fascinating and inspiring.  This experience had taught me that to saty competitive in the working market it is important to be flexible, willing to learn new skills, and always continue to explore away from our comfort zone.

Dot.com Dot. Bomb

If the dot. com frenzy teach us something is that every frenzy is followed by a collapse. Trends can be dangerous and we need to learn from them. As promising as the dot com was the disappointment was greater. To avoid this from happening in the future we must acknowledge and learn from what happened and more important analyze the flaws the lead to the collapsing. Some of the mistakes that lead to the dot. bomb are:
1) Over saturated Industries: Anybody could enter the marked and many firms went for the same customers, too many options not many customers.
2)Running out of money: Companies ran out of money after failing to reach revenue from the lack of demand.
3)Growing Too Big Too Soon: Many companies invested more resources in growing their stock value than developing a healthy business.
4)Poor Business model: Entrepreneurs ignored basic business rules and principles, without a strong business plan they were not likely to survive.
3)Growing Too Big Too Soon: Many companies invested more resources in growing their stock value than developing a healthy business. Because it was so easy to enter many e-industries some software and a good website is
all that was needed there were too many firms going after the same customers. Freedom of
firms to enter and exit an industry is one of the necessary conditions for pure competition. The
Web certainly made it easy for firms to enter most industries.1) Oversaturated Industries

Start up.com

Start up.com documentary  shows a group of young males who started a company together. The idea of their business was to centralize government payments and paperwork that are time consuming and tedious.

Unfortunately, for them the raise of their company was destroy but the aftermath of the boom.com. Perhaps, their business idea was strong enough to survive the collapse or maybe was never a good project but was push by the frenzy of the dot.com era.

It was very disappointing to find out that the entrepreneurs did not recover from this and in fact one of them ended up in jail.  As a entrepreneur passionate I am always cheering for any startup. Building a business from scratch is really a big challenge, but keeping it alive is a bigger challenge.

Epic 2015

The video Epic 2015 describes this year as the best of times and as the worst of times predicting some of that technological advantages and biggest issues humanity is facing today. Information is everywhere and accessible by anyone from anywhere.

However, as access increase our right to be forgotten decrease, once our data has been added to the cyber space we become immortalize. The cyber world has expanded to such a extend that we not longer have control over basics.

What is real and what is fictitious? Is another of the biggest issues we face with continues expansion of the virtual world. Everybody participates and everybody contributes to this net of information and we can not discern from what is actual facts and what is not. Individuals and entities share information and use information based on their own agenda and we are left behind with the responsibility of figure out what is real and what is not.

Guest Speaker Bryan Forth

The visit from Bryan Forth was a nice way to see how much and how fast technology advance. It is pretty extraordinary to see that companies like the one of Mr. Forth has been visionary companies that were and are able to see how to adapt, change and predict of what is to come in terms of business and technology.
I believe that we can use Darwin theory of evolution when we speak on terms of business and technology. only the most adaptable will survive. this is kinda scary and discouraging for an entrepreneur, but  it is proved history that if we don't adapt to the changes of the world the world just will keep it course leaving us behind.

Scavenger Hunt

The assignment scavenger hunt allowed us to acknowledge how much of our personal information is out there. Without even realizing we our disclosing most of our most personal information. It is pretty easy to access to someones entire life, likes, and even daily schedule just by getting online for a couple minutes. It doesn't even require of sophisticated software, because most of us unconscious of how our data can be use has put our life in the net.

It is essential that from this first hand experience we learn to become more conscious of who we allow access to our information. That we as users become more engage on how our information is use and distributed and how much of our personal life we want out there in the internet.

Email vs Mail

In a world that it seems that we no longer live without an email account and physical mail is obsolete let’s talk and see if these two have any similarities.
For starters it is almost obvious that email is a derived term of mail. But how exactly email works and why is that more and more people prefer to use it over physical mail?

How email works?

1.The senders compose a digital letter.
2.When the email is sent this one is uploaded to the Simple Mail Transfer protocol Server classified as outgoing mail.
3.The SMTP contact the Domain Name System server to look up for the domain name and server IP of the recipient.
4.Once the SMTP know exactly where the letter needs to be delivered it sends it to the target domain’s mail exchange server.
5.The Mail Transfer Agent decides where the mail should be put.
6.Then the mail is received.

How email works doesn’t seem more different than how mail works. The mail is sent to the post office where is sorted and classified depending of where is going. Then is delivered to the recipient.
However, even though it seems that both work very similar electronic email still is more convenient.

Why is electronic mail more convenient than physical mail?

1. The messages in an email are sent in real time and received within seconds.
2. An email can be sent from anywhere from any device with internet access.
3. One email can be sent to multiple recipients at the same time.
4. To emails you can attach digital files like photos, videos, and music.

The convenient and simplicity of how email works it makes is clear why it is preferred over physical mail.
